For the most part we stay away from anything in a box or a bag, but sometimes life requires us to cut some corners. There are a few amazing products that help me out a ton on the weekends when we are racing around from sport to sport.
The pizza crust ingredients are: Almond Flour, Arrowroot Powder, Flax Meal, Cauliflower, Baking Soda, Organic Oregano, Cream of Tartar, Organic Garlic. It tastes amazing as well. You need to add melted coconut oil, apple cider vinegar and water to it — that’s all! I put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes before pushing out on parchment paper into a circle. The box says there’s enough for two, but I use it for one. I heat the oven to 350 and put the parchment paper with the crust right on my pizza stone for 10 minutes. Then I take it out of the oven and flip it. I put organic pizza sauce and dairy-free cheese on top, and put it back in the oven for 10-12 minutes.
The pancakes are great and made with only 8 ingredients as well. Almond Flour, Arrowroot Powder, Organic Coconut Sugar, Organic Coconut Flour, Cream of Tartar, Baking Soda, Sea Salt. I usually add frozen blueberries to the mix and cook it with coconut oil on the stove. You only need to add non-dairy milk, coconut oil and 3 eggs or egg substitute.
The chocolate chip cookies are great as well, with similar ingredients. The only mix I didn’t care for is the artisan bread mix. The muffins and the vanilla cake are all very good.
These mixes have allowed me to give my kids healthy comfort foods on days when a baby who wanted to be held would otherwise make that very difficult. Fresh is always the best, but there is definitely a time and place for amazing products like these!
You can find some of their products at grocery stores, or order them on Amazon. They aren’t 100% organic so we don’t eat them all the time, but they’re a decent option for occasional use.
